For the Fly fisher: You will need a fast eight weight, or nine weight rod, outfitted with a quality reel that has a strong drag system. Please have both fast sinking, and floating lines. If you wish to be real sporty, you can fish with a six weight, (not for the weak hearted)!

For the conventional fisher: Any fast action rod for bait casting or spinning is good, with a good reel equipped with a strong drag system, loaded with 0.35 mm nylon or 20-30 pound braided line. Fishing wire is a prerequisite, our Dorado slice through any mono-filament leader like a hot knife through butter. We recommend 15-30 pound Tyger wire.
